As a business and technology consultancy, the Skill Group was facing a time of low leadership engagement in training and other activities, as well as communication challenges between leaders and their teams - especially a lack of empathy and assertiveness to support mental health care. The leaders whose development would most impact the business were selected and a full 1:1 mentoring programme was implemented over 6 months. 

I decided to invest in an Upskill Mentoring programme when I recognised that our company was going through an important moment of institutional change. I saw this as a great opportunity to reinforce to the market the benefits of this new way of operating and the new tone we were building. To achieve this, it was essential to work on our leadership in an individualised and in-depth way.

The programme was completely customised, focusing on the points that I myself identified as priorities for the group's development. At the end of the cycle, I saw a leadership that was more integrated in decisions, with a greater capacity for listening, empathy and collaboration. For very technical leaders, the mentoring programme opened up space to develop their more human side and strengthen their emotional intelligence - something that made a huge difference to the climate, the maturity of the discussions and the way we conducted our deliveries.

This set of advances has made us stand out not only for our competence and reputation, but also for reinforcing our position as a Human Company.

We saw tangible results, which directly impacted the operation, and other immeasurable results, related to culture and behaviour, which were equally valuable. For all these reasons, I have decided to continue and expand the programme in 2026, now including other professionals who can be honed in details that will certainly become competitive differentiators and even more organisational results.

As a property developer focused on low-income housing, EPH lacked a clear plan for individual development and leadership training, as well as a family succession plan for the company's top executive. They faced low leader engagement, communication noise and gaps in interpersonal skills.
