Upskill Insights Report for Leadership - 2023

According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security's General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged), one in three dismissals is the employee's initiative. And there is a profile of professional who is more likely to resign:

  • those with more years of study - higher education, master's degrees and doctorates - (48.2% of layoffs),
  • the youngest (39.4% of young people up to 17 years old; between 18 and 24 years old, 38.5%; and between 25 and 29 years old, 36%),
  • and Information Technology (IT) professionals, who represent the highest proportion of redundancy requests in the first 5 months of 2022.
In light of this data, this report provides strategies for more humanised leadership to learn how to create a welcoming and inclusive work environment for different generations, a healthy culture where there are meaningful connections, a sense of belonging, mutual appreciation and a strong purpose.
